Ginisang Dabong
Ingredients
- Bamboo Shoots (Dabong), shredded (julienne or thin strips)
- Canned Sardines
- Canned Tuna, optional if using canned sardines
- Garlic (Ahos), minced or finely chopped
- Onion, sliced
- Vegetable Oil
- Water
- Salt
- Ground Black Pepper
Instructions
- Saute the ingredients. Heat oil in a pan. Add the onions and let it brown a bit and then add the minced garlic. Once the garlic is browned a bit, put in the shredded bamboo shoots. Continue sauteeing the ingredients until the natural moisture of the bamboo shoots will come out.
- Simmer until tender-crisp. Add a little water just enough to soften the bamboo shoots. Boil for another 3-5 minutes. Make sure that the bamboo shoots are soft enough but still crispy and there is still a little liquid left.
- Season and serve. Add salt and ground pepper to taste. Remove from fire and serve with cooked rice. Enjoy
